Charities, we already supported

During the last years we were able to support several good causes. At this place we want to introduce them to you.

The Ian Somerhalder Foundation

1. According to conservative estimations of Harvard Scientists, up to three species go extinct EVERY HOUR.
2. The amount of the main greenhouse gas carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increased by 37% during the last two decades.
3. The UN-Organisation UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) estimates that there is an average of 18,000 plastic particles per Square Meter sea water.

These facts are just some single examples of the most burning issues our planet is facing.
Ian Somerhalder, a well-known actor from the US has seen these issues and decided to help solve them. Therefore he created a foundation which is bearing his name: Ian Somerhalder Foundation, ISF.
ISF believes that the environment is an „interconnected organism of which we are not separate but a part of […] and the global problems and challenges we are facing are infinitely interconnected and co-dependent“ (isfoundation.com)

Therefore, our solutions and actions must be equally interconnected and diversified. Therefore ISF supports projects, non-profits, for-profits and governing bodies that operate towards the conservation of the following areas: habitat, energy, animals.

In order to find solutions to all the burning issues of our planet, ISF believes in „the most powerful, yet disregarded, disrespected and overlook population on the planet – our youth.“ (isfoundation.com)
ISF's Mission: to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures.

The EntIt Movement - We're in it to end it

Slavery is not an issue of ancient times. It has not ended with the Civil War in the US. In fact, it is a bigger issue today than at any other time in history. Modern-day slavery might not be as obvious as African people working on Cotton Plantations in the Southern States, but if you take a closer look it is hard to miss. It contains human trafficking and forced labor and it happens in 161 countries in the world – that definitely includes your country too!

The End It Movement is a campaign created by seven Non-profit organizations like Free the Slaves and International Justice Mission to SHINE A LIGHT ON SLAVERY. It declared April 9 as the „Shine a light on slavery day“. In order to show compassion for the 27 million people enslaved worldwide, End It asks everyone to draw a red X on the back of the hand, take a picture and share it virally in social media. Furthermore, End It organizes public events and is present in the Public media in order to raise awareness and educate people about slavery worldwide. Numerous celebrities support the End It Movement and spread the word in interviews and social media – among them Nathanial Buzolic.

Die Kölner Klinikclowns e.V.

1.Where would you expect to meet a clown? In circuses, amusement parks, popular Fast Food Restaurants? Most definitely not in a hospital. But this is exactly where the hospital clowns go – and they are a blessing to patients and hospital staff. They distract ill children from their pain, fears and sorrows and spread laughter, optimism and joy.
The clowns are thoroughly trained artists and they don't present rehearsed programs, but develop games individually for each patient. They work with music, magic, pantomime and acrobatics and react sensitively to the individual needs and wishes of their little audience.
But not only do they entertain children in hospitals, but they also visit the elderly in retirement homes and build bridges to dementia patients in order to prevent isolation and the monotony of daily life.
We support the “Kölner Klinikclowns e.V.“. Because laughter is the best medicine!

Bloodwise

Did you know? There are 137 types of Blood Cancer. The names, symptoms and prognoses might be different, but all have one thing in common: an ordeal for patients, families and friends. Long hospital stays, exhausting treatments, stress, fear, pain.

Bloodwise is there to help – for more than 50 years.

The organization provides support to everyone affected by blood cancer, be it patients or their families. It accompanies them from the moment of the diagnosis, through the life with the disease and even beyond. It gives advice about treatments and provides information and emotional support, for example by a telephone hotline.
It funds and finances research, for new, cheaper and better treatments.
Bloodwise speaks up for patients in politics, to healthcare professionals and everywhere necessary to strengthen the patients' position and rights. And finally, Bloodwise organizes and executes public campaigns in order to inform and raise awareness.

All of us, who are healthy, will never be able to imagine, what blood cancer patients and their families and friends must endure. And this is something to be grateful for. However, we are able to help. We are able to stand by their side and let them know that they are not alone in their fight for a healthy, cancer-free future.

Action for Children

Action for Children is a charity located in Great Britain, supported by Graham McTavish, who plays Dougal MacKenzie in Outlander.
